Our Priorities
Strong Public Schools
Public tax dollars should support public schools and the communities they serve. That means investing in teachers, school employees, students, arts and music, STEM, special education, and practical skills. Every Ohio student deserves a quality public education and a fair shot at success.
Good Jobs & a Strong Economy
Ohio should keep and create good-paying jobs for Ohio workers. We should support manufacturing, agriculture, small businesses, organized labor, and local industries that provide meaningful careers. Economic development should strengthen working families rather than leave communities behind.
Responsible Data Center Development
Data center projects should be fully transparent about their water, energy use, infrastructure costs, tax incentives, jobs, and impact on the community. We should welcome responsible economic development while ensuring projects contribute fairly to infrastructure, protect local resources, create good-paying jobs benefiting Ohio workers, and provide meaningful benefits to the communities where they are built. Ohio should establish clear standards for siting, zoning, transparency, and community investment so data centers can grow without placing unnecessary burdens on local taxpayers and residents.
Rural Ohio & Agriculture
Family farms and rural communities deserve a strong future in Ohio. We should protect agricultural land, strengthen rural infrastructure, and improve access to healthcare, broadband, education, and economic opportunity. Rural Ohio should not be overlooked when state investments and decisions are made.
Healthcare & Family Affordability
No Ohioan should be priced out of the healthcare or care they need. We should expand access to healthcare, mental health services, prescription medications, fertility care, childcare, and affordable housing while addressing the rising costs that make starting a family increasingly difficult. Families should be able to build a life in Ohio without constantly having to choose between essential needs or giving up on the dream of starting a family.
Infrastructure & Transportation
Ohio should invest in infrastructure that connects communities and creates opportunity. That means improving roads, bridges, water systems, broadband, public transportation, and passenger rail while putting Ohio workers to work. These investments should be made responsibly with long-term benefits in mind.
Strong Workforce
Working people deserve a voice on the job and the right to organize and collectively bargain. Ohio should support fair wages, safe workplaces, apprenticeships, career-tech education, and partnerships between labor, schools, and employers. A strong workforce is essential to a strong Ohio economy.
Responsible Tax Policy
Ohio should pursue tax relief responsibly without eliminating revenue needed for essential public services. Maddux supports greater transparency about how property tax dollars are spent and opposes outright elimination without a reliable replacement. Property tax relief should prioritize meaningful reductions for seniors and others who may be especially burdened by rising costs.
Public Safety & Justice
Penalties should reflect the seriousness of the crime, especially when a life has been lost. Ohio should support law enforcement, firefighters, EMS, and other first responders while ensuring our justice system is fair and consistent. Accountability should go hand in hand with appropriate rehabilitation, mental health resources, and substance-use treatment.
Protecting Ohioans from Price Gouging & Fraud
Ohio families should not be forced to bear unfair price increases, scams, or deceptive business practices while already struggling with rising costs. Maddux will support and seek legislation to strengthen protections against price gouging, fraud, identity theft, and financial exploitation, with particular attention to protecting seniors and vulnerable Ohioans. Consumers should have access to meaningful protections and state resources when they are taken advantage of.
Campaign Core Belief
This campaign is not about party labels or political buzzwords; it’s about whether Ohio families can afford to live here, raise their families, and build a future here. Ohioans deserve a government that listens, focuses on practical solutions, and delivers results. What we’ve had for the last 15 years isn’t working for Ohioans anymore—we need a new approach focused on results, not more politics.

The people of the 82nd District should come before any party agenda. Maddux will listen to constituents, respect the decisions Ohio voters make, and focus on practical solutions to the issues affecting their daily lives. This campaign is about serving Ohio—not fighting national partisan battles.
Teachers, School Employees & Career Pathways
Ohio needs to invest in the people who educate and prepare the next generation, from teachers and aides to bus drivers, custodians, and other school employees. Maddux supports competitive pay, reducing unnecessary burdens on educators, and strengthening teacher preparation and recruitment to address shortages. We should also expand career-tech education, scholarships, community colleges, and apprenticeships with Ohio employers and organized labor so students have multiple pathways to a good career.
